Wedding Day Smile Shine

Wedding Day Smile Shine

The lead-up to your wedding day is packed with planning for every imaginable detail. From invitations to flowers to cakes to the all-important wedding dress, couples are always trying to find ways to make every aspect of their special day unique and perfect. One of the things to prepare for the wedding day that you may not have considered is your smile. It makes perfect sense to ensure your teeth are in good shape—after all, you are going to be the center of attention with all eyes on you. And it goes without saying that you’ll want your pictures to be perfect. To ensure your teeth are ready to be shown off on your wedding day, consider these tips.

Have Your Teeth Cleaned

This might sound obvious, but a teeth cleaning can go a long way in freshening up your smile. If you are a regular patient, it might be wise to schedule your cleaning shortly before the big day. This will allow you to have any stains or buildup removed, making your teeth look their best. If you haven’t been to our office in a while, it would be smart to schedule your cleaning further in advance. You may have more issues to address than just cleaning your teeth.

Get any Dental Treatment you Need

You will definitely want to have any recommended dental treatment completed prior to your wedding. If you have a cavity, you don’t want it to start hurting the night before walking down the aisle. If your dentist has recommended something more involved like a root canal, you certainly want to get that done even if you aren’t in pain. The odds are very high that an abscessed tooth will hurt at some point.  You don’t want your special day ruined by pain.

Whitening

If your teeth are yellowing or just aren’t exactly the color you would like them to be, ask us about whitening options. Remember to do this well in advance of the wedding, as some treatments such as  Whitestrips may take time to produce results. Some dentists offer in-office bleaching that can produce dramatic results in a short period of time. These are worth asking about if you want to see a big difference in the appearance of your teeth.

With all the work you put in to make your wedding day memorable, why wouldn’t you include your teeth in the preparations? By following these tips (and consulting A Better Smile Dentistry) you can make your smile as perfect as the day itself!
